Chamila Alison, Megan Wells, Fenella Wilson, Debbie Vlietman, Cherie Hughes and Bronwyn Ward
Debbie holds a Diploma of Teaching (ECE) and is a Fully Registered Teacher. She has 20 years experience in ECE and is our Managing Directress. Debbie is married with two children and they enjoy the great outdoors in the bay boating and fishing. She loves nature and all the wonders that it holds. Debbie enjoys sharing her knowledge and various animals with children.
Debbie is scheduled to teach on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and shares the role of Person Responsible.
Bronwyn holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching) and is a Fully Registered Teacher. Bronwyn has taught children from Year 1—Year 6 in the Primary sector for 7 years. The desire to be involved with a more holistic approach to education saw Bronwyn move out of primary teaching and begin her Montessori journey. Bronwyn loves being physically active in the outdoors. Some of her favourite things she likes to do is; run, walk her dog, cycle, boogie board and snorkel in the summer time, kayaking, gardening, luge, actually if she is honest most outdoor activities. During her quiet times she likes to coffee with friends and family, go to the movies, meditate, Tai Chi Qigong, and just chillax listening to nature. Bronwyn also likes travel
and go riding with her partner on their motorbike. She likes to cook and loves exploring google and cookbooks to find new recipes from around the world to try. Bronwyn is excited about being a part of the Daisy Cottage Team, meeting you and your family, and being involved in your child’s journey towards becoming an independent life long learner.
Bronwyn is scheduled to teach on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Chamila holds a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) and is a Provisionally Registered Teacher. A migrant teacher from Sri Lanka, Chamila holds a National Diploma in Primary and Secondary Teaching from her home country, and more than six years overseas experience. The nature of preschool children ignited her passion for early childhood education. Her personal interests are travelling, helping people who are in need of help, environmental conservation, watching cartoons, and reading classic novels. She loves spending her leisure time mostly outdoors with friends.
Chamila is scheduled to teach Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Fenella holds a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE), a Foundation Certificate in Montessori and is a Fully Registered Teacher. With backgrounds in the finance industry, Fenella and her husband Mark are the proud owners of Daisy Cottage and are both living out second careers and true passions in teaching. Together they have four boys and live on the picturesque Kaimai ranges. Fenella has interests in gardening, food and nutrition, and natural health. Fenella is also a Trustee of TMET (Tauranga Montessori Education Trust).
Fenella is scheduled to teach from Wednesday to Friday and shares the role of Person Responsible.
Megan holds a Diploma in Montessori. Megan discovered Montessori while traveling in England. She holds a Montessori Diploma for children aged 2 1/2 to 6 years which she gained at St. Nicholas Training Centre in London England. Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenage boys which keep her busy as they have a love for the sea and the great outdoors. Megan’s current sporting interest is swimming.
Megan is scheduled to teach from Monday to Wednesday.
Cherie holds a Diploma of Teaching (ECE) and is a Fully Registered Teacher. With 15 years experience in ECE, Cherie is an empty-nester with 2 daughters, living in Mount Maunganui. Cherie enjoys opportunities for self-inquiry and delving into the unknown, through reading and personal experience. She has aspirations involving travel, as a means of appreciating other cultures, and she considers walks up and/or around Mauao as nourishment for her soul. Cherie is inspired to be a visibly peaceful and nurturing presence in the lives of children, while also giving recognition to being a learner alongside children in both their educational and personal journey.
Cherie is scheduled to teach from Monday to Thursday.
