From left to right our team is made up of Bronwyn Ward, Chamila Kekulawala Vidanelage, Megan Wells, Maria Peterson, Debbie Vlietman and Fenella Wilson.

 

Bronwyn has a Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching) and is a Provisionally Registered Teacher.  When not rostered at Daisy Cottage, Bronwyn also teaches year 0-2 children at Otamarakau School.

Bronwyn is scheduled to teach on a Wednesday to Friday.

 

Chamila holds a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) and is a Provisionally Registered Teacher.  A migrant teacher from Sri Lanka, Chamila holds a National Diploma in Primary and Secondary Teaching from her home country, and more than six years overseas experience.  The nature of preschool children ignited her passion for early childhood education.  Her personal interests are travelling, helping people who are in need of help, environmental conservation, watching cartoons, and reading classic novels.  She loves spending her leisure time mostly outdoors with friends.

Chamila is scheduled to teach Monday to Friday.

 

Megan discovered Montessori while she was travelling in England.  She holds a Diploma in Montessori for children ages 2 ½ to 6 years through St. Nicholas’ Training Centre for the Montessori Method of Education Ltd.  She enjoys walking and has recently finished a 100km Oxfam charity walk.  She also enjoy spending time with family and travel.

Megan is scheduled to teach from Monday to Wednesday.

 

Maria has a Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching), an MCI Montessori Diploma (3-6 years), and is a Provisionally Registered Teacher.  Maria is passionate about Montessori education, enjoys music, tramping, stock cars, theatre and crafts.

Maria is scheduled to teach from Tuesday to Friday.

 

Debbie holds a Diploma of Teaching (ECE) and is a Fully Registered Teacher.  She has nearly 20 years experience in ECE and is our Managing Directress.  Debbie is married with two children and they enjoy the great outdoors in the bay boating and fishing.  She loves nature and all the wonders that it holds.  Debbie enjoys sharing her knowledge and various animals with children.

Debbie is scheduled to teach on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and shares the role of Person Responsible.

 

Fenella holds a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE), is a Provisionally Registered Teacher, and holds an MCI Foundation Certificate in Montessori.  Fenella and her husband Mark are the proud owners of Daisy Cottage, together they have four children and live on the picturesque Kaimai ranges.  Fenella has interests in gardening, food and nutrition, and natural health.  Fenella is also a Trustee of TMET (Tauranga Montessori Education Trust).

Fenella is scheduled to teach from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and shares the role of Person Responsible.

 

 

An adult can assist in shaping the environment but it is the child that perfects his own being.
