Our Team

Chamila holds a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE), a NZ Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Aperfield Montessori) and is a Fully Registered Teacher.  A migrant teacher from Sri Lanka, Chamila holds a National Diploma in Primary and Secondary Teaching from her home country, and more than six years overseas experience. The nature of preschool children ignited her passion for early childhood education. Her personal interests are travelling, helping people who are in need, environmental conservation, watching cartoons, and reading classic novels. She loves spending her leisure time mostly outdoors with her husband and friends.

Chamila is scheduled to teach Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Jade holds a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (ECE), Diploma of Teaching ECE, the NAMAC 3-6year Montessori Diploma, and is a Fully Registered Teacher. Having 25 years experience in early childhood education as a teacher and a leader, Jade with her husband Mark are the proud owners of Daisy Cottage Montessori. Jade and Mark have relocated from Cambridge to the sunny Bay of Plenty with their four beautiful children. Jade has a passion for ensuring the very best for children, a keen interest in natural health and nutrition, and is in the process of furthering her studies undertaking the AMI 3-6 year Montessori Diploma.

Jade is scheduled to teach on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Anna is a qualified Primary School Teacher who has been working in the field of Education for 9 years. Anna has two lovely daughters, her youngest currently joins us at Daisy Cottage. Anna’s love of teaching and learning shines through in her teaching practice. She loves living by the beach, going for walks, exploring our beautiful country, a really good coffee, and spending time with family and friends. 

Anna’s teaching days vary as our regular reliever.

Melissa relocated from the Hawke’s Bay 10 years ago with her husband Shannon and daughters, Isabelle and Sienna. She has been in Early Childhood for 9 years now, and loves working alongside children. Melissa’s teaching philosophy is based on building relationships with each individual child and their whanau. She believes every child should experience a sense of equality and trust within a warm caring and supportive environment where they can develop a sense of belonging and grow in confidence.

Melissa is scheduled to teach from Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Tessa holds a Diploma of Teaching (ECE) and is a Fully Registered Teacher. Tessa has been working in this field for 12 years, mostly working with infants and under twos, and she is enjoying exploring this age group and the Montessori way of learning. When it comes to working with children in her care, Tessa’s first priority is that they feel loved, comfortable and most of all happy in the environment they are in. Tessa has three children of her own and loves spending her free time with them and their pet bulldog. Tessa’s other interests include a love of online shopping, She is always pondering what she can buy next! 

Tessa is scheduled to teach each day from Monday to Friday..

Chloe finished her Bachelor of Education (ECE) in December, following two years working full time in Patumahoe, Auckland. In her spare time Chloe enjoys reading a good book, going to the beach whether that’s for a swim or just a walk and spending time with her partner, family, and friends. 

Chloe is scheduled to teach each day from Monday to Friday.
